Who doesn't love a rotating bar...at least at first. This super swank downtown restaurant (part of the Curtiss Hotel) is beautiful and perfectly located to the Theatre District and our favorite whiskey bar - Lucky Day. The best feature is their the roof top bar offering awesome views of Buffalo you have probably never witnessed.

Savor a refreshing take on authentic Asian cuisine at Koi as it is fused with a modern approach to dining. Sample tempting creations from the sushi bar or go straight for decadent dishes like the Cantonese roast duck, teriyaki beef tenderloin, crispy pork chop, Chuan Jiao Seafood and more.

SEAR is a modern steakhouse situated on the first floor of the Avant (Embassy Suites Hotel). The relaxed, upscale environs are sophisticated yet comfortable. They offer a bar scene with a great vibe, a robust wine list and an innovative menu. We love the salads, the sliders, Lobster Mac and, of course, the steaks.

Buffalo's Original Steak & Seafood: While BOSS might not be the most posh steak joint in town, it has a personality all its own. The longer I sat there the better I liked it. If I had to guess, and I do, I’d say BOSS may be starting to fire on all cylinders after an extended metamorphosis.

San Marco is a no-brainer to the legions of fans they have built up over the past 30 some years, but to many they may remain a mystery. We are pretty sure the regulars have agreed not to let anyone in on their secret. This is some of the finest northern Italian food you will find this side of the Veneto. They offer a great wine list and cuisine fit for the most special occasions.

Since 1967, Salvatore’s Italian Gardens has been the most spectacular restaurant in WNY. They have done plenty of remodeling over the years and recently added a hotel. The bar is beautiful, the service on target, the food excellent and the prices unabashed.

One of the finest restaurants in Buffalo, Oliver's Restaurant is fine dining in the "Old School" tradition. This gem has been turning out great food and great chefs for decades- thankfully there is no end in site. Chef Ross Warhol continues the tradition with stunning displays of culinary magnificence. Oliver's is elegant enough for the most special occasion, inviting enough for an early weekday dinner, and offers one of the nicest bars in town.

Not only does Lombardo's Ristorante offer up some of the finest Italian food and brick oven pizza in town, they offer up some of the best service as well. They've been serving North Buffalo for over 40 years. The staff is so friendly you're liable to walk out thinking they mistook you for uncle Joey. They do pretty much everything right - salads, house made pasta, chops, scaloppini... they even appreciate your business.

Buffalo Chophouse may not have been Buffalo's first steakhouse, but there are few oldies left that compare. Reports of long waits at the bar before dinner (with a res) are probably exaggerated but give yourself some room. The decor and food scream "bring the beef".

As elegant inside as beautiful on the outside, 31 Club serves up traditional steaks and seafood with flare. The restaurant is perfectly situated on Elmwood downtown with easy access, plenty of parking and walking distance to Delaware Ave hotels (and shuttle service to the Theatre District). A lot of locals save this for a special occasion, but no need to wait. Don't overlook Sunday brunch, holidays or their private party space. We love dining on the porches in the summer.
