It’s *officially* time for a summer send-off. One local brewery is throwing a seasonal celebration that’s fun for the whole family on Saturday, October 3.

Rusty Nickel Brewing’s annual Harvest Fest is a seasonal tradition for celebrating the local harvest, local brews, and family fun. This year’s event will look a little different because it’s COVID-friendly.

What to Expect:

Safety First

COVID-19 health and safety precautions will be in place and restrictions and regulations will be strictly enforced. This includes maintaining a social distance of 6ft. between parties and the use of masks when not seated at your assigned table.  To maintain capacity, this year’s event is ticketed as well.

Family-Friendly

This event is for the whole family. Bring the kiddos along for fun activities including pumpkin carving. Separate tickets and pricing will be offered to kids 12 and under on their website.

Food & Drinks

Food and drinks will be delivered directly to your table.

Included in the food options is the Harvest Food Sampler Board. This will include locally harvested vegetables, soft pretzels with mustard/ home-made beer cheese, local sausage, local apples, and more. The dinner portion includes grilled chicken with herbs, potatoes, and harvest vegetables. (Please call with dietary restrictions)

For drinks, there will be special beer and cider releases, including Rusty Nickel’s first-ever cider debut. Plus, there will be special harvest-themed cocktails, local spirit samplings, and more.

Tableside & Virtual Entertainment

The annual homemade pie bake-off is *still* happening, but with some adjustments for everyone’s safety. The in-person presentation portion is removed, but drop-offs will be available via a separate entrance. Bakers will be judged on creativity, presentation (plating), flavor, mouthfeel, and crust and will be able to view the awards ceremony virtually. You can register here.

Rusty Nickel Brewing has invited a bunch of guest speakers to attend this event. All of the guests are super duper involved in the local agricultural community and/or from local farm breweries, cideries, meaderies, wineries, and distilleries, and they’ll be talking about everything from Farm to Pint. The line up includes Paul Leone (Executive Director, New York State Brewers Association), Joe Marshall (Owner Lilly Belle Meads/ TIL Brewing), Bob Johnson (Owner/Operator/Maltster: Niagara Malt), and Joe Wolkowicz (Owner Vertical Vines Hop Farm). Topics will include: products, trends, processes, growing and harvesting, why sourcing local matters, industry growth, etc.

If you’re attending the fest, you’ll be able to listen in on these mini-interviews. If you’re not, you can catch the live streamed videos on Rusty Nickel’s Facebook page.
