Santas are invading Buffalo for the Fourth Annual SantaCon Buffalo! Sponsored by Labatt Blue and Southern Comfort. SantaCon in it’s simplest form is a giant pub crawl for which everyone, I repeat everyone, dresses up like Santa Claus or a reindeer and gets together for some day drinking in Buffalo’s entertainment district – all while benefiting a local charity! Don’t forget to bring a toy for the toy drive. Below is the SantaCon Buffalo press release with all the details.

Press Release:

Santas are Invading Buffalo for the Fourth Annual SantaCon Buffalo!

Sponsored by Labatt Blue, Southern Comfort and Liberty Cab

Buffalo, NY- The sleighs are skidding back into Buffalo on Saturday, December 13, 2014 as SantaCon Buffalo will be spreading holiday cheer through Buffalo’s entertainment district (Chippewa Ave) to participating establishments. Santa Convention (SantaCon) is celebrated in over 200 cities expanding 29 different countries across the world.

Last year, over 400 people were in attendance spreading cheer and goodwill. SantaCon Buffalo also hosts a toy drive which benefits Buffalo non-profits; Black Rock Boys and Girls Clubs, Riverside Boys and Girls Clubs, and Hertel Academy. Over 1,000 toys have been collected since SantaCon Buffalo started in 2011.

‘SantaCon Buffalo was originated for two reasons; (1) Giving people a chance to have a fun and safe afternoon out (in Buffalo’s entertainment district) celebrating the holidays with friends, families, and buffalonians. (2) Making the holiday season a bit brighter for those who need it the most’, states a SantaCon Buffalo organizer, ‘Since 2011, we are happy to say that we have collected over 1,000 toys for children in Buffalo! Every year, we were able to add another non-profit to our list to donate toys to and are confident that we’ll be able to add a fourth organization this year. Liberty Cab is jumping on board this year as well. For those who want to donate a toy to SantaCon but are not able to make it to the event, Liberty Cab will have a designated van to pick up toy donations please call 716.877.7111!

What are the requirements?

The focus is on spontaneity and creativity! Something like a Santapalooza or Santa Rampage, SantaCon incorporates a day of cheerful bawdy and harmless behavior while friends, family and strangers gather together to sing Christmas carols around the streets of Buffalo. In simple terms, just dress up and be ready to party!

Don’t just show up in a hat! This is SantaCon! So for the love of Rudolph wear a Santa costume (or something Christmas-y)! Get a Santa suit. Buy a Santa suit. Make a Santa suit. Everyone else will be wearing a costume of some sort and we don’t want you to feel lame. Get creative with your costume, make modifications! Pirate Santa, Super Santa, James Bond Santa, Biker Santa, Doctor Santa, Hanukkah Harry, Sugar Plum Fairy, Reindeer, Terminator Reindeer, Elf…you get the idea. Let’s show them what BUFFALO is made of.

What is the North Pole Stroll?

Registration will be held at 1:30pm at 67 West (Chippewa & Franklin) with a live performance by Kurt’s Back and giveaways from SantaCon’s presenting sponsors Labatt Blue and Southern Comfort. Santa has received help from the Buffalo’s participating bars to open up their establishments from 2:00p-7:00p on December 13th and to have drink specials prepared for anyone who is wearing a SantaCon Buffalo wristband.

Need a ride sleigh ride home? Liberty Cab will be graciously providing $10.00 gift cards for those Santas who need a ride home. These gift cards will be available SantaCon Registration and participating establishments.

Registration for SantaCon Buffalo is $10 which includes your wristband for the great holiday specials from our supporters on Chippewa! In addition to the registration fee, a toy donation will benefit the Black Rock Boys & Girls Club.
