Shuttered: NY Deli in Williamsville

Pastrami Sandwcih from Reuben’s

Unfortunately, Rich Balogh, former owner of the 18 month old Reuben’s NY Deli has served his last pastrami on rye – at least in Western New York that is. According to Reuben’s Facebook page, Rich and his family are moving back to Connecticut.

Western New Yorkers will have to get a taste of the big apple elsewhere. That is until the mysterious new owner Rich mentions on his last Facebook post reopens the place.

It’s unknown whether the new owner will continue with the same name, concept and food.

The one time we visited we appreciated the efforts made towards creating an authentic NY deli. To learn more about what Reuben’s NY Deli once was and may become again, read our opening feature.
