Fat Bob’s / Step Out Buffalo
This twice-a-year WNY Local Restaurant Week offers excellent dining deals to Western New Yorkers at 200 local restaurants. We’ve recommended you make reservations at these restaurants early, given you ideas for where to go to get the most bang for your buck, and compiled a list of new additions to the LRW lineup. Now it’s time to tell you where we’re headed for Local Restaurant Week Fall 2015. These are the top picks for LRW as chosen by the SOB staff. See you there. 😉

Jiffy Burger at A.B.V. / Step Out Buffalo
Allen Burger Venture
Downtown / 175 Allen Street, Buffalo / 716-768-0368 / LRW Info
Currently one of our favorite restaurants in general, ABV is casual, fun, has a fantastic beer list, and most importantly serves wonderfully juicy and delicious beef patties on buns. If you like burgers, this is an absolute must for LRW. Heads up – they get busy every week/day.

Amaretto Bistro / Step Out Buffalo
Amaretto Bistro
Williamsville / 7170 Transit Road, Williamsville / 716-635-4750 / LRW Info
One of those restaurants that you probably wouldn’t wander into off the street, we’re here to recommend you go on in – especially for restaurant week. These guys have tasty food, simple charm and a good lookin’ 3 course LRW menu.

CRaVing / Step Out Buffalo
CRaVing
North Buffalo / 1472 Hertel Avenue, Buffalo / 716-883-1675 / LRW Info
If you’re one of those people that uses LRW to check out some really great, different restaurants and you have yet to get to CRaVing, we highly recommend making a resy here. Chef/owner Adam Goetz recently cooked at the James Beard House, something not many chefs can brag about (especially from WNY). Consider yourself lucky to have these guys on the LRW lineup.
Dick and Jenny’s
Grand Island / 1270 Baseline Road, Grand Island / 716-775-5047 / LRW Info
These guys are on our list because we have yet to go (we know, embarrassing) and have heard only good things. Therefore, we’re planning on taking our own advice and giving this new (to us) restaurant a try this LRW. They’re offering 3 courses for $20.15 and wine pairings for $13.5 per person!

Encore / Step Out Buffalo
Encore
Downtown / 492 Pearl Street, Buffalo/ 716-931-5001 / LRW Info
We’ve always thought Encore was a fun pick for LRW, especially when they started offering “flights” as part of their special menu. Probably one of the most unique LRW menus you’ll come across, Encore offers your choice of flight from options like soup & salad, dessert, appetizers and more, plus an entree. We like your style, Encore.

Fat Bob’s / Step Out Buffalo
Fat Bob’s
Allentown / 41 Virginia Place, Buffalo/ 716-887-2971 / LRW Info
This restaurant week, Fat Bob’s is offering a few different options, each with a s***ton of food, and (somewhat) more importantly, a pint/bottle of beer or glass of wine. They also have a decent lunch option if you’re able to eat BBQ mid-day and not fall asleep. (Or even if you aren’t and just don’t really care.)

Bay Scallops at Oshun / Step Out Buffalo
Oshun
Downtown / 5 E. Huron Street, Buffalo / 716-848-4500 / LRW Info
These guys are going all out for LRW, offering nothing but their special menu (although the raw bar will be open – hallelujah!) which consists of 4 (read ’em and weep) delicious courses, with multiple options for each. Did we mention there’s an option to add a Lobster Tail for ten bucks? Thank you, Oshun! Their special lunch menu is ridiculously good too.

Eggplant Sandwich at Osteria 166 / Step Out Buffalo
Osteria 166
Downtown / 166 Franklin Street, Buffalo/ 716-858-3118 / LRW Info
For some delightfully elevated Italian fare in a casual Italian pub vibe, head to Osteria 166 downtown. Their LRW menu allows you to choose an appetizer, entree, and an “extra” including wine and dessert options. Each section has a variety of dishes to choose from, plus they have select bottles of wine for $20.15.

Dessert at The Roycroft Inn / Step Out Buffalo
The Roycroft Inn
East Aurora / 40 South Grove Street, East Aurora / 716-652-5552 / LRW Info
Always a great pick for dinner if you’re feelin’ a little fancy, the Roycroft especially shines during LRW with their 3 course meal, a few different price points and possibly a roaring fire (ya, know if it’s snowing next week).

SATO Ramen / Step Out Buffalo
SATO
Elmwood Village / 739 Elmwood Avenue, Buffalo/ 716-931-9146 / LRW Info
Another excellent pick during LRW, this Modern Japanese restaurant on Elmwood is offering 3 courses with multiple dishes to choose from and an option to make it a $30.15 deal by adding a Cup of Sake and Edamame Beans. Oh, and ramen is on the menu my friends.

Buttermilk Fried Free Range Chicken / Step Out Buffalo
Shango Bistro & Wine Bar
University Heights / 3260 Main Street, Buffalo/ 716-837-2326 / LRW Info
Again, a fantastic restaurant for a delicious meal in a cozy atmosphere any day of the week. This LRW they are offering soup or salad, an entree and dessert for $20.15. Please note they, like Oshun, will only be serving their special restaurant week menu.

Sun Salmon Special Roll
Sun
Black Rock / 1989 Niagara Street, Buffalo / 716-447-0202 / LRW Info
Once you go to Sun for Local Restaurant Week, it will be hard to resist repeating for years to come. (We know from experience.) While their lunch deal is great, the real star here is dinner with 3 different cuisine options, Black Rice Bar, Thai, and Burmese, each with three courses for $20.15.
