“The Table-Slamming, Ketchup-Spraying, Life-Saving Bills Mafia”
In simple terms, yes this pretty much sums up the Bills Mafia. But in all reality, there is so much more to the Mafia than what is typically covered by the media.
To further tell their story, in a recent article, Sports Illustrated has taken a deep dived into the Mafia’s early beginnings and what they’ve accomplished since their formation in 2011.

For those who don’t know where the “Bills Mafia” name was coined, the article goes into explaining how the fanbase was born out of a Bills related tweet among a small group of Bills fans. Once the name gained the attention of then linebacker, Nick Barnett, the name quickly spread among Bills fans. From here, we’ve seen the addition of table slamming, Pinto Ron, Pancho Billa, and so on. Behind the scenes however, are the charitable efforts of the Mafia which would later gain national attention, most recently with Damar Hamlin’s Chasing M’s Foundation.
To see the growth of this fanbase in the last 12 years is impressive to say the least. While the full Sports Illustrated article is a bit of a read, it’s a good one. So, we highly recommend checking it out.
All we can say is that we can’t wait to see all the ways the Bills Mafia continues to shine their light not only on the Buffalo community, but across the world.
