St. Patrick's Day Scavenger Hunt Map

Leave it to the people at Canalside to come up with another great event for WNYers. Saturday, March 14 they roll out the first (of what we hope is many) St. Patrick’s Day Scavenger Hunt and Cure Me I’m Irish After Party.

The Scavenger Hunt is an outdoor hunt with cash and prizes. Registration and the beer tent open at 2:00 PM. The hunt is conducted via an app on your smart phone that opens promptly at 3:00 and closes promptly at 5:00. You’re welcome to start later but the app will shut down at 5:00 PM.  The scavenger hunt will feature riddles and clues that lead you and your team to approximately 25 different clue destinations in the Canalside District, uncover more than 70 hidden “Lucky Pots” featuring gift cards to over 20 local restaurants, local merchandise and cash. That’s real cash not funny-money. The grand prize “Pot of Gold”, will be worth over $1000.

Not only is this good fun, some learning is guaranteed- don’t worry, no testing involved, but there are several trivia questions as part of the hunt. This is a family friendly event. The hunt covers about 1 hour of walking plus scavenging. Entry fee – $20 per person or $55 per team (4) for the hunt. Check out the Step Out Buffalo team pass giveaway here.

If you’re not much of a hunter feel free to hang at the tent – it’ll be heated. Canalside also hopes to have open skating on the ice beginning at 10:00 AM, weather permitting.

The Cure Me I’m Irish After Party is a tented party with live music, food (Lloyd and Just Pizza food truck), a beer tent, raffle items and more. DJ’s will get the crowd rockin’ for the main event – Den of Lions at 7:00. Den of Lions lead singer Keith Shuskie appeared on The Voice last season. The party is free admission.

Den of Lions

The day benefits Melina’s White Light, a local childhood cancer foundation created in the memory of Melina Riniolo who lost her fight with Neuroblastoma at the age of 13.
