Taffy’s ready to shake, rattle and roll

It may not seem like it right now, but all deep freezes are not bad. For example, the milkshakes to come from Taffy’s Shake Truck.

Yes, that Taffy’s. Taffy’s Hot Dog Stand in Orchard Park is launching a brand new “food” truck this “spring”. Actually this week, to be exact. The family owned business has put their faith in long-time employee Daniel Pikula to take the show on the road. And we’re so glad they did.

In case you didn’t know, Taffy’s is known for it’s winning combination of char-grilled hot dogs, picnic tables, and extensive milkshake menu. Unlike the stand in OP, the truck will strictly offer frozen treats. Before you hiss and moan over the lack of hot dogs, you should know – that includes over 100 flavors of hand scooped old fashion milkshakes, waffle cones and waffle sundaes in limited flavors.

“No hot food will be offered on the truck,” said Daniel, “but we hope to encourage fans to visit our brick and mortar store @ 3261 Orchard Park Rd. in Orchard Park since 1949.” The outdoor restaurant on the corner of Orchard Park Road and Southwestern boasts over 140 flavors, delicious fries, and more. We have yet to lay our eyes on the list of shakes that made the final cut for the truck. But let’s be real, does it even matter? There are over ONE HUNDRED! Hence the word epic.

After a long winter of waiting for the region to thaw out, Taffy’s is ready to hit the road this week (whether or not we’re actually thawed is debatable, but they’re breaking her in nonetheless). Expect to find them all over WNY, including Larkin Square, Roswell, the city and the ‘burbs.

As per usual when it comes to our favorite food trucks, get daily updates on the whereabouts of Taffy’s Shake Truck by following them on Twitter and Instagram.
