With plenty of beautiful, safe places in Buffalo and Western New York for families to picnic this season, we urge you to step out – blanket and basket in hand! Use this guide to find the best family picnic spots near you.

Delaware Park

Located in the heart of Buffalo, Delaware Park is a prime destination for your family picnic. It’s rolling meadows of greenery are the perfect spot to spread a blanket and settle in with your loved one, and there are plenty of playgrounds for kids. This urban oasis of 350 acres is both captivating and relaxing. You’ll know right away why this place is the centerpiece of parks in Buffalo!

Cazenovia Park

South Buffalo’s finest park is the perfect place to experience a quiet lunch and a peaceful walk within the city. Nestled within the cozy village of East Aurora is a hidden gem known as Knox Farm State Park. It spans 633 acres including a woodland area that is perfect for an adventure and grass pastures which are the prime place for your picnic. Visitors to Knox Farm can observe wildlife, along beautifully scenic trails that are dog-friendly.

Chestnut Ridge Park
