The Buffalo History Museum is celebrating a major milestone of Buffalo State’s Patricia H. and Richard E. Garman Art Conservation Department with a brand-new exhibit.
The new exhibit is called Fifty Years of Conservation of Cultural Heritage and Art in Western New York and it’s part of a wider community celebration for the 50th year of the conservation department.

The Garman Art Conservation Department has conserved more than 160 artifacts and paintings from the Museum’s collection over the past 50 years.
Many of these artifacts that have undergone conservation treatment, including paintings, furniture, and even one-of-a-kind rarely displayed objects, are displayed in the exhibit.

The exhibit features over 40 artifacts including a child’s sofa, a Larkin Company desk, a Civil War surgeon’s kit, a helmet, shield, and mace from Central Asia, and many paintings.
