If you travel just 50 miles south of Buffalo, you’ll come across the quaint Village of Ellicottville, NY. From Skiing to shopping to axe throwing, this tiny (but mighty) town is full of all types of fun and exciting activities. Whether you are looking to get away to the country or you’re want to try a fun activity in the snow, Ellicottville is the spot!

Stop 1: Katy’s Cafe

Katy’s Cafe is the perfect place to start of a day trip to Ellicottville. The Cafe offers a full service coffee bar for all your caffeine needs. Plus Katy’s Cafe serves traditional plated breakfast dishes, breakfast sandwiches, and burritos and has an array of lunch items.

Stop 2: Holiday Valley for Snow-tubing, Skiing, and Snowboarding

Ellicottville is best known for its skiing and tubing slopes. Tubing is a fun way to spend time in the snow and contrary to what you might think, there’s no experience needed! If you’re feeling adventurous, Holiday Valley offers ski and snowboard rentals and introductory lessons for both sports.

Stop 3: The Ratchet Hatchet

If you’re looking to stay indoors where it is nice and warm, check out The Ratchet Hatchet, an axe throwing range open to anyone 18 years or older.

No day-date is complete without a delicious dinner! Ellicottville is home of many great bars and restaurants, one of the most popular being the Ellicottville Brewing Company. EBC has a variety of tap beers including their very own line of creative and tasty beers including flavors like Blueberry and blood orange!
