Things To Do

Helium Comedy Club

30 Mississippi St, Buffalo, NY 14203 / More Info

Truly one of the most underrated spots in Buffalo, there’s nothing better on a cold winter day (or any day) than getting together under one roof with friends and strangers to laugh. Bring your significant other, best friends, work crew, parents, sibling, or all of ’em at once. Plus Helium’s lineup is always full of great acts – check out who’s coming to town this season.

Sabres/Bandits/Beauts Game

1 Seymour H Knox III Plaza, Buffalo, NY 14203 / More Info

Often overshadowed by the Bills, Buffalo’s other sports teams are fun to watch (and you get to stay warm indoors). Plus with tickets starting around $20, it’s a fun, cheap night out on the town (pro-tip: season ticket holders get discounts on drinks during games…just fyi).

Buffalo’s Theatre District

Main St, Buffalo, NY 14202

Shea’s is an iconic experience in WNY, and its beauty is something that needs to be seen at *least* once a season. If you’re looking for something more quirky or local, head to the Shea’s Smith Theatre, Irish Classical Theatre, Shea’s 710 Theatre, or Alleyway Theatre – which are all right next door to each other. To make your night even more special (and save on parking), park further up Main Street and take the free train to the Fountain Plaza.

Eat & Drink

Nowhere Lounge

3115 Delaware Ave, Kenmore, NY 14217 / More Info

Located across the street from the new Falley Allen and the iconic Home Taste (plus a short walk from Black Iron Bystro, Mike & Pop’s, Clay Handi, and Macy’s Pizza), Buffalo’s newest bar is in the heart of Kenmore’s food/drink district. But, this bar isn’t just another bar – the completely 70’s themed spot is filled with nostalgia, knickknacks, cozy corners, and hand-carved wooden accents crafted by the bar’s owner.

Pork Bellies BBQ @ One-Eyed Cat Brewing

5893 Main Street, Williamsville, NY 14221 / More Info

The new(ish) spot, situated in the former Pairings Wine Bar, has the atmosphere you’d find at a well-established wine bar combined with the chill vibes of a brewery. With couches, games, books, a fireplace, and more – this isn’t your typical “beer” spot. Plus Pork Bellies operates out of a takeout window inside, and on Sunday’s they’ve got a brunch that will hit the spot especially on the coldest of days.

K:Dara Noodle Bar

110 Pearl Street, Buffalo, NY 14202 / More Info

What’s old is new again. From the people who brought us the original Kaydara Noodle Bar on Main, this rebirth slid right into the former Sato Brewpub location on Pearl and didn’t miss a beat. They offer great South East Asian noodle dishes, maybe better than ever, plus plenty more including their famed 1000 (degree) broccoli. We loved the service and the Lo Mein, along with pretty much everything we tried – which was close to everything on the menu, naturally.

They offer 56 rotating taps of beer, wine, cider, and seltzers as well as host trivia night, wing night, and Saturday brunch. If avoiding the outdoors sounds like your kind of winter, this is a great way to mingle with friends indoors over a few drinks.

If you’re looking for comfort food – look no further than this new concept in the village of Williamsville has tasty food in an adorable atmosphere. The idea isn’t unique BUT the combination of fast casual with pasta is. Choose one of their signature dishes or make your own!

Broadway Market

999 Broadway, Buffalo , NY 14212 / More Info

Most people sleep on this throughout the year until it gets to be Eastertime and it’s so packed you can’t truly enjoy it. We recently went to try Pinoy Boy’s new kitchen inside the market and loved walking around and checking out the shops. From candies and sweets to restaurants and wineries to fresh butcher shops and the fish market (and yes, your favorite Polish staples), you can find it all without the huge crowds year round at the Broadway Market.

For anyone looking to eat healthier and/or eat more often without having to stress over preparing your own 3x a day, Balanced Body is IT. They have such interesting creative meals – its a foodie’s meal prep dream. We especially love the salmon burger, Chorizo Breakfast burrito, Mexican taco bowl, and any chili you can get your hands on. Bonus – they even do kid’s portions!
