Exciting news graced our inbox/news feed/eyes/ears this week from the team at The Mansion on Delaware about a new chef rolling back into town to head up the culinary adventures at one of our fav hotels in Buffalo. Ross Warhol, a WNY native and accomplished chef, will return home to take over as The Mansion’s Executive Chef after Jennifer Boye recently left for Elm Street Bakery. Cross your fingers this is just the beginning of Warhol’s most recent stint in Buffalo. We’re hoping for Hotel Henry in the fall.

Buffalo, NY, February 17, 2016– Geno Principe, partner, is excited to announce that Chef Ross Warhol has been chosen to lead the culinary team at The Mansion on Delaware Avenue, as Buffalo’s original historic luxury hotel continues its fifteen-year progression as the most innovative and prestigious public special events facility in WNY.

Chef Warhol arrives in Buffalo after a successful run as Executive Chef at Pelican Club in Galveston, TX, which featured a progressive American menu, influenced by the plains region of the Texas Gulf Coast, where Ross could pair his passion for local, fresh ingredients with international influences.

A born and raised native of WNY, Chef Warhol’s novel culinary vision has taken him around the world. Prior to Pelican Club, Ross attended the CIA both in Hyde Park, NY and St. Helena, CA. His craft brought him to the most recognized kitchens in the world including Spain’s El Bulli, Frantzen/Lindeberg in Sweden, Alinea in Chicago, and The French Laundry in California.

Chef Ross joins The Mansion on Delaware Avenue’s award-winning team, which is recognized for excellence in culinaryarts and service, to add his own special touch to the hotel’s continually evolving menus, service and presentation.

The Mansion on Delaware Avenue’s special events team has hosted an astounding array of national and international dignitaries, celebrities and VIP’s over the past fifteen years, for groups of 2 to 250. A private engagement dinner for an NHL Vezina Trophy winner, high tea for the actual Mary Poppins, formal diplomatic dinners for international heads of state, receptions for a Supreme Court justice and Secretary of State, multi-day luncheons and dinners for Fortune 500 company CEO’s, professional sports teams and Grammy Award winning performers.

The hotel’s commitment to consistently exceeding guest expectations combined with a continual evolution of food, presentation and service styles continues to attract business, social and wedding groups as well. The Mansion serves thousands of hotel guests each year through in-house dining menus exclusively for guests of the hotel. MoDA creates more than 225 individual special events menus each year, each made to order, with ingredients sourced with a commitment to finest quality of product, and locally sourced when available. The Mansion’s 275 sq.ft. urban chef’s garden located immediately outside MoDA’s kitchen door produces an abundance of hyper-local produce from summer through autumn. Pesticide and hormone free, the garden is designed and maintained by John Santomieri, horticulturist of Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens. Usually reserved exclusively for private parties and hotel guests, The Mansion’s private garden patio is open to everyone for a few delightful hours, on a few select summer evenings, for MoDA’s Cocktails on The Lawn Summer Series. These popular events, open to the public, feature craft cocktail and small plates menus crafted exclusively for each event – designed by MoDA’s culinary & special events team. A live band rockin’ from the rooftop of this historic, architecturally resplendent building completes the evening.
