There’s a new gallery in town. This outlet for local artists is brand-new to the village of East Aurora as of the beginning of September.
When art shows and festivals across the country were cancelled because of the pandemic, one local artist saw an opportunity to support an industry in need.

Melissa Buckley opened a retail art gallery in East Aurora so local and regional artists, including herself, can continue to create and sell their work. This place is kind of like an indoor version of an outdoor arts festival.
The Rusty Button Shop is really, really unique because everything is locally and regionally made. Every single piece here is made by artists and makers from Western New York, Rochester, and Syracuse. Most of the artists have been showing and winning awards for their artwork for many years.
This place is full of one-of-a-kind finds. Plus, the displays of original artwork are always changing aka there’s always something new to discover.

You’ll find original work by jewelers, painters, fiber artists, mixed media artists, sculptors, photographers, furniture makers, assemblage and collage artists, artisan soap makers, and woodturners here.
If you need more local artwork in your life, check this place out.
P.S. COVID-19 protocols are in place, of course. Masks are required and only eight shoppers can come in at a time.
