This artisan gallery was born during the pandemic. When art shows and festivals were canceled, Melissa Buckley saw an opportunity to support local and regional artists.

She opened The Rusty Button Shop in East Aurora with a specific mission in mind. She wanted to create a place where artists, including herself, could continue to create and sell their work.

Now, in 2022, art shows and festivals are opening back up, but The Rusty Button Shop is not going away. The Rusty Button Shop will continue to support local artists and be a Go-To place for unique, OOAK (one of a kind) gifts and home decor. The Rusty Button Shop has gifts for weddings, showers, anniversaries, birthdays, etc, especially for the hard to buy for!

As a local artisan gallery, you will continue to find great quality and ever changing items by very talented artists from all around WNY at The Rusty Button Shop – some of whom you’ll recognize from local shows and festivals such as Allentown Art Festival, Kenan Center American Craftsmen and The Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts. The Rusty Button Shop also carries the work of 10 Juried Artists of the Historic Roycroft Campus Arts & Craftsmen Guild.

Upcoming Events:

From now until Easter, The Rusty Button Shop will be selling Ukranian-Inspired eggs, designed/painted by The Rusty Button Shop Artists, with 100% of funds collected going to benefit Ukranian refugees/services.

East Aurora’s Spring Art Walk 2022 is happening the evening of Friday, May 6th from 4pm to 9pm. Leisurely stroll the village streets of East Aurora visiting participating businesses showcasing artists and their original work. The Rusty Button Shop will be open extended hours and showcasing each of their 55+ artists.

Arts In The Alley is back for its second season the first Sunday afternoon of every month from June through September! Arts In The Alley is an intimate art fair snuggled off Main Street in East Aurora in Person’s Alley located next to 42 North Brewing Company. This event runs 12pm – 5pm. Look for The Rusty Button Artists (and more!) at the show and the shop to be open extended hours each Sunday of Arts In The Alley.
