Travel + Leisure, a nationally recognized magazine dedicated to providing updated travel info and tips, made a list of the BEST places to visit in 2021. Since international travel is still so unpredictable, they kept the list to locations in the U.S. and guess which New York city made the list? Obviously – Buffalo, NY!

Buffalo making this list of 2021 Best Places to Visit in 2021 is HUGE and reflects the extent of Buffalo’s uprise in city development, restaurants, arts, and culture.

The reasons for Buffalo’s high ranking? Our visual art scene. Specifically, the new Native American-owned art gallery called K. Art featured throughout Downtown Buffalo’s new co-working space K-Haus. It’s dedicated to Indigenous art, which is considered the ONLY gallery of it’s kind in the U.S.

The Albright-Knox Art Gallery, one of the most well known art galleries in Buffalo, is also going through a massive expansion that will be completed in 2022. The article mentions there are projects all around Buffalo by the AK Public Art Initiative worth visiting too.

Travel + Leisure talks about the $65 million Silo City restoration that will bring these abandoned grain silos a plethora of art, commercial, and exhibition space. Lastly, a gigantic golf complex and hotel launched by the golf brand OnCore will soon make its home along the Buffalo River.

As you probably know if you’re an avid Step Out Buffalo reader, this is just a small (but awesome) slice of what makes Buffalo the perfect travel and leisure destination!
