Things to Do: Try Buffalo-Based Thimble’s STEM Kits & Workshops

Have you heard? Due to Covid-19, we’ve temporarily changed our motto to “Stay In, Buffalo”.  And for the foreseeable future we will be posting content that shares how our community can continue to support local businesses while adhering to guidelines set by the CDC.

If you’re looking for way to keep your older children occupied and possibly drag them away from their phones for 2.5 seconds during these corona times, keep reading.

This month, Buffalo-based STEM education company Thimble is offering a series of four free 1-hour workshops for middle and high schoolers to learn STEM skills when you purchase one of their beginner kits. Here is a link to sign up.

Upon purchasing a kit ($99), you’ll receive an email to schedule a workshop. With this special COVID-19 package, you’ll get access to 1 kit, 12 projects, and 4 instructor-led workshops.

In the kit you’ll find several sensors and parts. Examples of projects include a music composer and intruder alarm. These projects are suitable for kids in grades 4-12, and younger kids can build projects with parents.
