Every new year, Arch Daily creates a list of the most anticipated projects for the year, each offering impressive designs from all over the world. It’s a pretty big deal. Among the list’s 23 structures that are scheduled to open this year, is the world’s second-tallest tower in Malaysia and Egypt’s largest archeological museum. But, without traveling across the globe, you’ll also find this year’s list just so happens to include one of Buffalo’s very own highly-awaited constructions.

If you’ve driven along Elmwood recently, then you should know exactly what landmark we’re talking about: The Buffalo AKG Art Museum.
The article states, “The Buffalo AKG Art Museum is being renovated and expanded with a new campus designed by OMA in collaboration with Cooper Robertson. Designed with substantial input from communities throughout Western New York and the museum’s leadership, the campus adds 50,000 square feet of inclusive, interactive, and porous exhibition spaces alongside classrooms and an interior community gathering space. Formerly known as the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, the museum has announced that it will welcome its first visitors on the 25th of May, 2023.”
Keep your eyes on The Buffalo AKG’s socials for more updates as we get closer to their spring opening!
