Do yourself a favor this Friday (Aug. 7, 8:00- 10:00 PM $12/$20) and catch the soulful Honky Tonk classics of Chuck Mead & His Grassy Knoll Boys at 189 Public House in East Aurora. This is guaranteed to be a special treat with Mead in the intimate setting of 189. Serious country music fans might remember Mead as co-founder of the famed ‘90s Alternative Country quintet BR549.
Chuck’s acclaimed 2012 release, Back At The Quonset Hut, was recorded at Nashville’s legendary Quonset Hut Studio where Patsy Cline, George Jones, Merle Haggard Roger Miller, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash and more cut some of country’s greatest tracks.
In addition to great tunes you’ll want to sample 189’s hyper local, house brewed Crook’s Outlaw Pale Ale. You can get a sense of the music from the YouTube video below, but you’ll have to sample the beer in person.
