This Holiday Wine Tasting Tour Might Actually Get Us to Leave Our Houses This December

The holidays are home to all our favorite activities; shopping, snuggling up inside our houses, eating our weight in snowman-shaped cookies and of course, drinking lots of wine – ideally by the fireplace.

The Niagara Wine Trail is one of Western New York’s shining gems. These wineries have events and tours happening all year round and if there’s one thing that’s going to get us venturing out of our warm caves and outside; it’s a Niagara Wine Trail tour.

Every weekend in December, over 20 participating wineries along the trail come together to offer the ultimate holiday tour. Tickets, ($50 per person, $65 per couple) will get you three individual tastings at each winery, a commemorative wine glass and some adorable collectible ornaments. We’ll do the math for you– that’s over 60 tastings offered per person. Worried you won’t be able to taste all those wines in one day? Tickets are good for all of December. Stretch it out over a few weekends to try them all out and give you some much-needed TLC after stressful holiday shopping. Niagara Wine Trail FTW [for the win].

If you want to make a getaway weekend out of it, many wineries along the trail offer lodging. Stay at Becker Farm’s luxury, eco-friendly cabins for the perfect holiday weekend in the country. Or stay in Medina’s boutique hotel, Hart House Hotel. This hotel boasts modern and trendy decor you might mistake for a NYC hotel until you walk outside and soak in the small town charm of quaint Medina. Hart House Hotel happens to be right next to 810 Meadworks, one of the participating wineries, and above the Shirt Factory Cafe. Finish your night with tastings at Meadworks, a good night’s sleep at Hart House and begin your morning with a tasty latte from the Shirt Factory Cafe.
