Attention all fashionistas (or literally anyone looking for a super cool new hobby): we’re about to introduce you to Fashion Lab NY. This adorable, newly opened (Fall 2018) little studio on Hertel offers labs, workshops, camps, private lessons and events for anyone and everyone looking to hone their fashion designing and sewing skills, and make some really cute stuff!
Owner and founder of Fashion Lab NY, Arlene Kaye, is a 30-year veteran in the fashion industry, and is very passionate about design. In fact, she’s led design, product development and merchandising for some pretty impressive global brands including New Era Cap, Life is good, Timberland and OshKosh B’Gosh. She’s more than legit, guys- and TBH we’re pumped about her business.
Fashion Lab NY has something for everyone- young/old, beginners/professionals, fashionistas/casuals. They offer labs for kids (ages 8-12), teens (ages 13-17) and adults, where students go to one two-hour class per week for 4-8 weeks. You’ll get to make trendy clothes and accessories that you’ll actually wear (*check out @fashionlabny on Insta) with the help of their highly qualified and trained professionals. And if you’re a beginner, you’ll get all the attention you need with a small class size of 4-6 people. In addition to labs, they have a couple different specialized workshops where you can learn to sew and/or create in one jam-packed session (aka the perf low-commitment option). All course registration pricing is listed on their website.
Fashion Lab NY also offers one-day, school break and summer fashion camps for boys and girls ages 8-13 (*Ahemm parents, summer break is almost here- you know what to do). AND, you can even schedule your own event or party there (showers, fundraisers, team building, wine and sew night, etc), which actually sounds like a total riot.
Check out their website to view all of the labs, workshops, camps and events coming up!
