Ever wanted to be a famous singer, go on tour, and perform nightly for thousands of fans? Helllll yeah you have. Unfortunately, the odds are pretty shabby. But, fear not, there are tons of places in WNY to snag your 15 minutes of fame and sing your heart out pretty much any day of the week. For better or worse, there will be no breathalyzer performed on you before you take the stage. Here’s our list of the top places to channel your inner Beyonce, Bon Jovi, or Michael Jackson.
The Studio at Waiting Room
334 Delaware Ave., Buffalo
If you’re serious about bringing your karaoke A game, The Studio at Waiting Room is where you want to be. They offer up live band karaoke where the song list is endless and continuously updated, and you have an actual band or DJs backing up your vocals. #toolegittoquit Plus they have an emcee to keep things moving and extra entertaining. Not only does The Studio offer Karaoke one night a week, but sometimes even two or three times. Check the calendar for more specific info.
The sometimes monthly Thursday Nights are Punk Rock edition, where fans can feel like the real deal singing songs by Sum 41, Taking Back Sunday, The Offspring, Blink-182, etc. Friday nights offer up a mix of rock, pop, and ‘90s live band karaoke. Hip Hop Karaoke happens here and there, featuring music from live DJ The Gldn Girls and MC Truey V!, where you can challenge yourself to rap as fast as Busta Rhymes (warning: don’t try this at home). Have a drink and sing as many songs as your tolerance, and the tolerance of everyone else in the room, allows.
Essex St. Pub

If you can’t be held back and just need to roam around a venue while you’re singing, Tuesday nights at Essex St. Pub is the place you want to be. With no stage, but TVs around the bar, you can take your mic wherever you want, engaging the audience with your singing and dancing prowess. With the eclectic crowd that assembles here weekly, you will always get a dose of new and old music, and all sorts of singing voices.

1110 Elmwood Ave., Buffalo
Besides being Elmwood’s bustling weekend hotspot for local musical talent, Goodbar allows everyone to get in on the action. Weekly karaoke happens on the second floor of Goodbar, where some of Buffalo’s best comics have also performed. Add your name to the list of the Buffalo greats, and join the fun.

376 Grant St, Buffalo
Gypsy Parlor will take you to a new cultural world with their gypsy jazz and belly dance nights. With their kitchen open until midnight featuring West Side favorites, you’ll stay nourished into the long hours of your singing career.

Triple Play Sports Bar
810 Main St, Buffalo
With all the various happy hours, drink specials, and theme days that Triple Play has, it’s no wonder it’s become a weekly hotspot hang out for many people. With Eclectic Sound DJ’ing the night, you’ll definitely make this a weekly occurrence.

Dooley’s Bar and Grill
850 Englewood Ave., Tonawanda
If you’re looking to stay north of Buffalo, then Dooley’s is the place for you. Located in Tonawanda, this sports-friendly bar has a plethora of activities to keep you occupied including chicken wings, pool tables, and cheap drinks to enjoy in between your turn at the mic. Simple, yet effective.

T.C. Wheelers Bar and Pizzeria
341 Wheeler St, Tonawanda
If Dooley’s is too packed for you, stay in Tonawanda and head to T.C. Wheelers. Serving up a variety of favorite dishes including Reuben pizza, clams, lobster dainties, and calzones, you may just forget about your need to sing, and focus on your need to keep eating. No judgement either way.

At Kate’s, the title of karaoke night is “Be The Star Night.” With entertainment provided by Unleashed Entertainment, and no stop time on the poster, this venue is really encouraging the breakout star of the night. Also, apparently Tonawanda loves karaoke…
