Yes, Buffalo, we’re sorry but the Trump Resort Buffalo was an April fools joke. A cruel one by some accounts, but in our defense, it was April 1st. Rust Belt Resorts? Kudos to the few that picked up on it! Hey, you never know. Maybe the Donald will pick up on it…if he’s as smart as he says.

The Trump Resort Buffalo prank is the perfect segue into our Dream Big Buffalo Wish List – check it out.

The Donald Plans to Feature Buffalo in Resort Venture

The Wall Street Journal reported in their morning edition that Donald Trump has announced plans to build his next Trump Mega Resort here in western New York. Key to Trump’s plans is closing a deal on a 385 acre parcel of land that runs along the shores of Lake Erie on what was once the Bethlehem Steel plant in Woodlawn. Trump officials said this site will be developed into a 36 hole golf resort that would include two championship courses, a 9 hole executive course, two restaurants and a 15,000 square foot clubhouse. According to Trump property executives the resort plans are completely dependent on this parcel.  Golf operations will be financed by through the sale of 350 equity memberships starting at $100,000.

Trump Tower Buffalo will reportedly be designed by global Broadway Mathis, a global architecture, urbanism, and design company. The tower, when completed in 2016, will stand 2500 feet tall, with residential units, commercial space, and a hotel likely over 58 floors.

Proposed #15 on Windmill Course

Director Shirley Jones, who has led the practice’s team, said in a press release: “Imagination is a major milestone in the delivery of this landmark project, which has drawn on the skills, expertise and experience of our world-class design team working in partnership with the client, with the tower set to redefine lifestyle living in western New York as well as the Buffalo skyline.”

Suites of approximately 3500 square feet, comprising of one to four bedroom apartments, and penthouses of approximately 425 square yards (4,574 square feet), will provide a diversity of unit types to cater for different spatial and economic needs.

The luxury residences will offer world-class city living with exclusive facilities, with the tower set to be the first condominium in the world to offer a selection of Major Brown home collections for its amenities and common areas.

Buffalo will be first in what Trump plans to be 6 mega resorts surrounding the great lakes.  Other possible sites are said to include Erie, Cleveland, Toledo, Detroit and Rochester.

Trump officials declined to comment but local government staff have been said to already looking at Federal funds with the idea of extending the Main Street metro south to Woodlawn.
