If you’re looking for a memorable meal where just about everything is unique and noteworthy, the Lodge is the restaurant to try. They deliver beautifully cooked dishes in an artistic, colorful presentation. A recent trip to The Lodge has had me thinking about my meal ever since. We ordered multiple dishes and shared – the only way to go. We started with the roasted bone marrow served with pulled oxtail and charred baguette and the venison tartare with kewpie mayo and fries.
The entrees included the suckling pork chop served with pork belly mac n’ cheese (even the brussel sprouts were a burst of flavor) and the spiced rack of lamb cooked rare with LBG Merquez sausage, grilled figs and couscous. We then ended our meal with the s’mores dessert served with homemade BACON ICE CREAM; salty, smoky, sweet, creamy deliciousness also mentioned in our full review of the Lodge.
As tasty as everything was during this meal, if I were to suggest one dish you just have to try it would be the venison tartare. It had a hint of spice from fresh horseradish, a salty note from the capers, and creaminess from the runny yolk that you break over the venison. It was truly a dish to die for.
