A fresh snowfall calls for one of our favorite winter activities – sledding! It’s one of the best way to spend a snowy afternoon in Western New York. Plus afterward you get to go home and have the perfect excuse to make hot chocolate.
Our region is home to plenty of awesome public sledding hills, so grab your sled or tube and find one near you! Here is a list of sledding hills around WNY:

Arcade Park Sledding Hill

According to waymarking.com: Roughly 400 feet in length, illuminated at night, closes at 10pm daily and is open 7-days a week.
Akron Falls Park

Good for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding and ice skating. This park offers parking and multiple sledding hills. Open 10am – dusk.
Beaver Island State Park

Good for sledding, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. Open from dawn to dusk.
Bond Lake Park
2571 Lower Mountain Rd. Ransomville, NY 14131 / WEBSITE
During the winter months the park offers a number of activities that are not available anywhere else in Niagara County. A well maintained and staffed Sledding Hill is open, weather permitting. The Sledding Hill is limited to plastic sleds and inflatable tubes only. The park also provides a large ice skating rink for family oriented skating as well as a smaller rink used exclusively for hockey. There are 13 miles of cross-country skiing trails that are groomed and cared for by our staff. Restroom facilities are available. The Warming House is open to the public when not rented for a private function. Visitors are permitted to bring picnic style lunches. No equipment rental is provided for any on site activities. Sledding Hill conditions are recorded daily and can be accessed by calling (716) 731-3256.

Elma Meadows Golf Course and Park

Fairmount Park

Winter time brings cross-country enthusiasts to the park as well as sledders to it’s medium-sized hill on the grounds. No rental skates are available for the outdoor rink.

Fort Niagara State Park

In winter, visitors can cross-country ski, snowshoe, and sled. The park is adjacent to Old Fort Niagara State Historic Site.

Reservoir State Park
