We have rounded up a complete guide to hiking specifically in Allegany State Park–one of WNY’s most ideal locations for a day or weekend of outdoor activity. For hiking trails within a short car ride, Allegany is the perfect spot.

Allegany State Park is a gem of the region being the largest New York State park. All 18 trails cover 80+ miles for you to hike and explore. For those who do love a winter hike, these trails are typically year-round including groomed snowmobile trails. Activities besides hiking include cross-country skiing trails, horseback riding trails, and snowmobile trails. Not only is the park great for everyone but it is especially well suited for families and pets with a wide array of trails to choose from and several different activities and nature spots for kids and adults to explore alike. From fall foliage to spring flowers, Allegany is a great spot to explore. When you set out to conquer these beautiful hiking trails, make sure you check updated park information and acquire trail maps to plan your trip.

We have taken all of the Allegany hiking trails and organized them into categories so you can get exactly what you’re looking for. From distance to family-friendly outings, see what works best for you below!

Trail Maps are available at the park rental offices and additional information can be found at NYS website.
