I used to head straight for the mall when I needed a special new outfit, a piece of jewelry to make an outfit pop or new cooking and cocktail supplies. That is, until I realized one can find the very same items right in town and have a lot more fun doing it. These are a few of our “must visit” shops in the Village of Williamsville offering things like olive oil, tea, internationally inspired home decor, swimwear, jewelry and much more.

D’Avolio offers a wide variety of olive oils, vinegars, spices, and gourmet ingredients. Their bottles make excellent gifts, salad toppers, and cooking components. Local foodies have to taste their gourmet items like the Cyprus Black Lava Salt for a special element to your dishes. Drizzle fruity flavored vinegars like blueberry or white coconut over ice cream, grilled fruit and seltzer water. I personally really enjoy their line of fused and infused olive oils, as well. Trust me when I say their butter olive oil is better than the really thing. Top your popcorn with that instead of melted butter and taste the masterpiece that is the butter olive oil. It’s the best. End of story.

Village Artisans is one of my personal favorite shops in Buffalo. They display the work of over 100 local artists and talented crafters. Their Buffalo themed T-shirts, jewelry, painted wine glasses, decorations, and more help to spread city pride. My favorite pieces are the ones that include the vintage Buffalo transit tokens. They’re so unique and never fail to catch the eye of locals because as Village Artisan’s would say, they’re “made in Buffalo for Buffalovers!”

Blum’s is a swimwear and intimate apparel store that is known for their “old fashioned” fittings for every size and shape. The sale associates are extremely helpful and attentive, so don’t be shy when it comes to asking them for their advice on what items are best for your body. Grab a latte from Spot Coffee on Main Street in Williamsville and scope out the resort wear and swimwear for your next vacation or browse the intimates to feel your best in your everyday outfits!

Sweet Jenny’s has been attracting locals with their delicious ice cream flavors, truffles that are almost too pretty to eat (I said almost) and tasty treats since 1985. In 2011, the dynamic duo, Howard and Tara Cadmus, took over the responsibility of continuing the good reputation Sweet Jenny’s has earned over many years of delivering the highest quality sweets. On top of preserving the shop’s well known reputation, the pair also wanted to expand Sweet Jenny’s. Sweet Jenny’s recently decided to devote their efforts into restoring the historical Williamsville Water Mill. The village is excited to see their visions become a reality and see life be brought back to the Mill! I’m excited to see the completed production room with windows to view the ice cream and chocolates being made. My personal Sweet Jenny’s ice cream recommendations are Blueberry Pie (fresh blueberries, cinnamon & vanilla pie crust in blueberry ice cream), Cinnamon Nutmeg and Pumpkin ice cream.
