If you’re a die hard Bills fan and/or Sabres fan, you know that the season can be tough to watch…but you also know that no matter how bad it gets you’ll still be tuning in. To make these viewing sessions a bit more enjoyable you might as well dive into a basket of wings and a beer to get you through. Whether you’re deciding to go out and cheer on the Sabres or drown your Bills sorrows over a few beers and some pizza logs, we’ve got your back.
Here’s a list of some of the best places in WNY to watch, eat, drink and cry (on Sundays) during Bills and Sabres games:
Big Tree Inn
The Big Tree Inn is probably the most popular place to be on Bills game-days. The restaurant/bar is literally right down the street from New Era Field, so it’s the perfect place to be during home or away games. Bonus: The Big Tree Inn is even popular for tailgating if you’re headed to the game. The restaurant is famous for all of their Buffalo game-day favs like beef on weck, pizza, and wings. Plus it’s been known to draw many past Bills players in to watch the games with fans, so you’ll never know who you’re going to see.
Sidelines Sports Bar and Grill
Sidelines Sports Bar and Grill is a sports themed bar and restaurant, hence the name. This place is another popular viewing party spot, and the bar/restaurant offers drink specials for every Sunday, Monday and Thursday night NFL games. So whether you’re watching the Bills or just looking to enjoy any NFL game, Sidelines has got ya covered.
(716) Food & Sport
(716) Food & Sport is always one of the most popular places to be in Buffalo on game day. Just look at that massive TV. For every Bills and Sabres game, home or away, (716) Food & Sport hosts a huge Game Day Watch Party. The restaurant/bar has a large projection screen that literally takes up the entire wall plus dozens of additional TVs scattered throughout the restaurant. Basically you’re constantly in viewing range from every bar, booth, or table you’re able to enjoy a beer and the game (but maybe not if you’re watching the Bills).

Bada Bing
If you ask me, Bada Bing has some of the best food in Buffalo. Bada Bing’s menu has the perfect mix of classic bar food and authentic Italian dishes, and the bar/restaurant has become one of the most popular stops in downtown Buffalo to watch all of the Bills and Sabres games. There are tons of food and drink specials offered during home and away games and plenty of TVs for your viewing pleasure, which is the perfect sports bar combo.
Danny’s South
Danny’s South is another restaurant/bar located right down the street from New Era Field aka the perfect location for all of the game-day action. Danny’s offers a game day menu as well as a tailgate menu, which is ideal for an early lunch before heading into the game (or just tailgating, you know). They also allow Bills fans to rent out a section of their lot to tailgate in with food and drinks provided by the restaurant. Sooooo whether you’re stopping in before the game or are planning on watching a Bills away game surrounded by fellow die-hard fans, Danny’s South will make you feel as though you are at the game.
Santora’s Pizza Pub & Grill
Santora’s Pizza Pub & Grill is a bit of a hot spot on game days. Santora’s has TVs all over the bar and restaurant so you’re able to watch the games while drinking at the bar or drowning your sorrows over eating some pizza and wings during a Bills game. The restaurant also has a large projection screen with a fire pit and heaters outside which is perfect for when the indoor bar is getting a bit too busy and/or you just need a little fresh air.

Mooney’s Sports Bar & Grill
With nine locations all over WNY, Mooney’s has got ya covered no matter you choose to be on game-day. If this place sounds familiar it’s because this sports bar & grill has been made famous all over WNY for their mac and cheese and drink specials seriously they have INSANE mac-n-cheeses. In addition to their killer mac menu Mooney’s provides a huge other menu covering all types of pub fare, so go ahead and load up on apps and entrées.
Big Ditch Brewing Company
The Big Ditch Brewing Company is (another) perfect spot for anyone who likes to enjoy a beer during a Bills or Sabres game…mostly because they’re over here brewin’ their own. Big Ditch offers a wide variety of beer and even has their own Bills themed beer which, by the looks of this season, you’re probably going to need a few to at least get to halftime.

Sports City Pizza Pub
Sports City Pizza Pub is THE sports bar to stop by on Niagara Street during game days. The pub has made themselves famous for their delicious pizza, wing, and drink specials. They also offer a wide variety of draft beers and even a “Pick 4 Flights” for only $9 option so you can watch the game and enjoy a few beers while you’re at it.
Riverworks has grown to be one of the most well-known spots for just about any event held in Buffalo. You can expect a packed bar at Riverworks for a Bills or Sabres game no matter the time or day, and even though the restaurant/bar is a massive space it does tend to up pretty quickly. Don’t fret – on game days there are plenty of TVs to accommodate every one
