Many of the designs here are inspired by the 716 (hence the name).

Seven One Six Wood Design is a soon-to-be-open woodshop and retail space that specializes in handcrafted wood pieces. Think functionality meets modern style in a one-of-a-kind way.

The Backstory

Seven One Six Wood Design’s backstory is a local one. This brand (formerly The Rustic Buffalo Wood Co) was born back in 2015 in a garage on MacArthur drive in Williamsville NY.

The owner, Scott Erikson, started building when he moved into his first home with his wife. It needed a lot of work, decorating and furniture and they couldn’t afford to buy it all so Scott decided he’d try and build it. Friends and family thought it looked nice and started coming to him with projects. As the requests continued to grow, Scott decided to try Etsy and that’s when his side hustle became official. His business steadily grew from 2017 to 2019, but then 2020 came. After losing his corporate job, Scott saw an opportunity to go all in, and thus Seven One Six Wood Design was born.

Fast forward to May of 2021, and he is planning for a grand opening on Earhart Drive right next to 12 Gates Brewing Co.

The Products

You’ll find home decor in all sizes here, from small keepsakes to large accent pieces to completely customizable furniture. Some of his most popular products are floating bookshelves for nurseries and children’s rooms, general shelves, plant stands and display pieces, and custom signage.

Many of the pieces here are inspired by Buffalo, including Buffalo shaped tables, stands, signs and word cut outs that represent the 716.

The beauty of this soon-to-be-open workshop and retail showroom is customers can stop by when open to shop and also get a peek inside the workshop.

Planning is also underway for a series of DIY classes (launching this summer), where you’ll be able to come into the shop and build your own pieces! Think paint night, but substitute paint and brushes with wood and tools.
