Luckily, for you, we know just the place offering all this and more. And the best part is, it is only about an hour drive from the city of Buffalo!

Where is this place you ask? Livingston County NY. Home to the Genesee River Valley and its beautiful historic villages – if you’re ready for a change of scenery that’s not too far from home, we’ve got just the itinerary for you!

Stop 1: Swain Ski Resort

If you love to ski, you have to hit the slopes at Swain. As the oldest independently run ski resort in Western New York, it’s a long-time favorite for locals and out-of-town visitors. They have 35 trails and 5 lifts, which means there’s something for every age and ability.

Stop 2: Woodlawn Distilling

After a day on the slopes, you’ve earned a winter warmer. You’ll find plenty of cocktails to keep you warm and cozy when you visit LivCo’s newest distillery. Woodlawn Distilling is run by a young local brother-sister team and all of their locally sourced liquor is made with ingredients used from the family farm.

Stop 3: Boriken

On a cold winter day, comfort food goes an extra long way. When you’re hungry for a tropical escape from the winter weather, head to Boriken for a bite. This authentic Puerto Rican restaurant serves fresh, homemade favorites including stuffed mofongos, which is a mashed plantain stuffed with chicken, fried pork, skirt steak, shrimps, or veggies.

Stop 1: Trail Otter

Before you go off exploring, gear up at Trail Otter. This outdoor outfitter shop in Leicester has all of the hiking experience essentials from backpacks to maps to outwear and everything in-between.

Then you can join a group hike with the Trail Otter crew. They know all of the area’s 29 trails, including their nooks and crannies, so they’ll surely bring you to spots you may not have discovered on your own.

Stop 2: No BS Brewing

After an active adventure, it’s time to sit back, relax, and enjoy a brew. The beauty of booking an igloo at No BS Brewing is you can continue to enjoy the sights and sounds while warming up at the north end of Conesus Lake. This local microbrewery’s tap list has something for every palate, including stouts, porters, hoppy IPAs, fruited sours, and more.

Stop 3: Galene

When you get hungry, head to Galene for dinner. This classically-designed new American restaurant features local and coastal touches. They have a daily fresh oyster and seafood list available. Plus, it’s located right on the lake.

Stop 4: Fanatics Pub

Before you head back to wherever you’re staying, grab a nightcap or few and live music at Fanatics Pub in Lima. This local pub welcomes national blues acts to take the stage for your entertainment.
