Fed up with cancer and fueled by their love of hockey, a group of Buffalonians came together to take action. Back in 2017, they set a goal to break the record for the world’s longest hockey game while raising money for cancer research. They succeeded and later the 11 Day Power Play was born.
The annual tradition has continued ever since, raising over $5 million along the way. Fast forward to 2021, and their fundraising goal is set at nearly $2 million.

Here’s how it works:

The world’s longest hockey game to fight cancer hits the ice in mid-November. 40 players will hit the ice downtown at Buffalo RiverWorks to play for 251+ hours over the course of 11 days all while braving winter elements.
You can get involved by visiting RiverWorks for a game between November 14 and 24 and supporting the players. You can also support the cause by making a donation online.

Either way, you have an opportunity to make a real impact. These fundraising dollars directly benefit the Buffalo community and help to save lives. The 2021 11 Day Power Play specifically supports Roswell Park®, Children’s Hospital, Make-A-Wish® and Camp Good Days.
Visit the 11 Day Power Play to learn more about the cause and make sure to spread the word on social media.
