In a fun-loving turn of events, you can now rent “FLOATmingo” paddle boats at Hoyt Lake. This is in addition to the row boats that are also available for rental on Hoyt Lake each season.
What is a FLOATmingo boat you ask? It’s a paddle boat shaped like a flamingo, of course.

According to WKBW, The Flamingo is the unofficial mascot of Olmsted – “FLOmingo” for Frederick Law Olmsted. The boat rentals were added to celebrate FLOmingo Day on June 21.
The Boats are available for rent at $15 per half hour and can be rented in front of The Terrace in Delaware Park. The rentals are run by the Buffalo Maritime Center and run from 12 – 8 pm every day.
